As a follow-up to a recent post I did about music venues in Louisville, I wanted to take a minute to highlight some of Louisville’s best neighborhood venues right here in the Highlands! Since the Highlands is a weekend destination, it’s no doubt that there would be such an offering of live music spread throughout the neighborhood.

The Hideaway Saloon | 1607 Bardstown Rd

Hidden away in a corridor next to Leatherhead at Bonnycastle Ave, The Hideaway Saloon is one of the best small rooms in town for live music. It’s a cozy joint. Not a ton of space, but your music experience will be superb. You can just go and listen, whether you’ve heard of the band that’s playing that night or not, you will enjoy. I have discovered a number of awesome bands at The Hideaway that I had never heard of before.

Wick’s Pizza | 975 Baxter Ave

WicksMuralHHPNot only is Wick’s one of my favorite pizzas in Louisville, but they are also equipped with a nice stage for bands and acoustic acts. Check their calendar for upcoming live music.

Baxter’s 942 | 942 Baxter Ave

Baxter’s has a cool stage setup and a nice seating area for the stage. The whole pub has a very open feel. Bands were playing a lot when they first opened, but I see a lot of DJs on the weekends now. I’m hoping the spring will bring the bands back.

O’Shea’s Irish Pub | 956 Baxter Ave

O’Shea’s Highlands location has been around since 1994.  They have expanded a lot over the years, and most people know them for their amazing patio. Inside in the main dining area there is a nice little stage where all sorts of bands from all over the place perform. O’shea’s has live music weekly on Friday and Saturday nights.

Highlands Tap Room Grill | 1058 Bardstown Rd

Check back for updates and new spots for music.
