One of the many great things about living in the Highlands is that there’s always something to do. In the summertime especially, there are tons of events and opportunities to connect with neighbors. A personal favorite of mine is the summer concert series at Willow Park.
First of all, Willow Park is just a great place. It’s a cute little park situated on one of the most beautiful streets in Louisville, and maybe the world. On one side; a parkway lined with century old trees and towering historic homes. On the other side; the entrance to Willow Park’s 400-acre cousin, Cherokee Park. Right in between these magnificent pieces of Louisville you will find the quaint, triangle-shaped green space that is Willow Park. Amenities include restrooms, a playground, picnic tables, and a sweet gazebo. It’s a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings!
On Sundays between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm during the summer, the Cherokee Triangle Association puts on a free concert series at Willow Park for all to enjoy. The music varies from week to week, but there is always something for everyone. Bring your fold-up chairs and the kids, and be ready for a great time with friends and neighbors! The concerts are free, however everyone is encouraged to bring canned goods and/or hygiene products as a donation to Highland Community Ministries and Dare to Care Food Bank.
